Werner Teichert, registered psychologist and founder of BurnoutOS

Werner Teichert is a registered psychologist practising across Australia and South Africa, and the founder of BurnoutOS. After years of watching capable professionals arrive at his practice depleted — having already tried every quick fix on offer — he built what he wishes had existed: a structured, evidence-based burnout recovery system delivered with clinical depth and a coaching frame.

Clinical background

Dual-registered. Deliberately so.

Werner trained in clinical and occupational psychology, with postgraduate qualifications spanning Australia and South Africa. His clinical work has focused on the intersection of high-performance professionals and chronic stress — working with clinicians, leaders, and senior operators across healthcare, law, finance, and technology.

He holds registration with:

This dual registration reflects a deliberate commitment to maintaining professional standards in both jurisdictions, not simply working from one while licensed in the other.

The approach

Evidence-based. Coaching-framed. Honestly scoped.

BurnoutOS is built on the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) framework — the most empirically validated model of burnout in the occupational psychology literature. The work draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), sleep science, and evidence-based behavioural health practices.

The frame is coaching, not therapy. Coaching suits high-functioning professionals working on performance, meaning, and sustainable rhythms. Therapy is appropriate for clinical concerns. Werner will tell you, honestly, which one fits your situation — and decline to coach people whose needs are better served elsewhere.

Why BurnoutOS exists

The space between a wellness app and a therapist.

Most professionals who burn out don't need more information. They need structure, clinical depth, and a system that works when motivation runs out. What existed in the market was either too soft — wellness apps without clinical foundation — or too clinical: traditional therapy, hard to access, slow to operate.

BurnoutOS occupies the space between. Clinician-developed, coaching-framed, designed for people who treat their recovery seriously. From the Burnout Snapshot that begins with pattern recognition, through the Self-Guided and Intensive programmes, to one-to-one Executive Coaching for senior professionals working at leadership scale.

Clinical governance

The boundaries are named. And held.

Werner takes clinical governance seriously. Every BurnoutOS product operates within a defined scope of practice, with clear intake screening, informed consent, GP engagement requirements, and crisis response protocols. Professional indemnity insurance covers both jurisdictions. The boundaries between coaching and clinical care are named explicitly and held consistently.

This is not standard for the wellness industry. It is standard for a registered psychologist running a scalable coaching business — and it protects both participants and the integrity of the work.
